In the not too distant future, vampires have emerged from the shadows and wrested control of the earth from the humans who were about to destroy it. Humans were reduced to the status of cattle and mainly confined to the Blood Farms where they were milked for their precious fluid.  A few humans worked for their masters in menial positions.  Charles Gray was assigned to hunt down the "Sons Of Man" - a resistance group. But in so doing, he discovered that the vampires had a great and powerful enemy - the Old Gods - who wished to subordinate the vampires in ways too horrific to mention. The vampires believed themselves safe inside their Barrier. But the humans found a way to breach that shield. And so the great war began.
